Address a potential noise/vibration concern for the furnace models noted in this bulletin. The action described in this bulletin is not being taken to address a safety concern. Replacing the inducer motor will resolve the vibration noise issues
Furnaces exhibiting a vibration noise: Reports have indicated that some inducer assemblies may emit a vibration noise due to an imbalance of the inducer blower wheel. New inducer assemblies with a Fasco date code of MB1711 (see figure 4) or later are available to eliminate this vibration issue.
Furnaces exhibiting a high pitch — blade pass frequency noise: The inducer blades and housing configuration may generate a high pitch whining noise (a high pass frequency). This noise may be transferred through the vent system. Installing a muffler (see figure 3) in the exhaust vent will absorb this fre-quency.Affected Products:
